the attitude of the "new breed of driver"

Before you do that I'd recommend checking with the APU manufacturer first. On some of these small engines exhaust length is critical to good operation. May not be germain but "back in the day" I had an Espar engine pre-heater on my truck. ####### mechanic (me) changed the length of the exhaust by a couple feet and it collapsed the "furnace" part of the heater because it changed the backpressure.

 

Thats 1 reason a lot of the NON mechanically inclined peole have trouble with things after they jimmy rig their own add ons.

 

Okay I see that you'll went off the beaten path again from the original post but I have a question. .. my 2008 Volvo Turbo is making this loud as sound, when I hit the accelerator going in about fifth gear it's starts like whining a lil bit. U can hear like something spinning with the Turbo. . I'm sorry I can't give a more exact description of the noise but that's what it is. .. lol it drives me crazy when I have to build up speed and hear that Turbo whining like that. .. any thoughts on what it could be! ???

Seriously, though, that's what mine sounded like in that 2004
Century shortly before the truck started pumping gobs of black smoke out under power. But check all the fittings to make sure it's not leaking. The Cascadia I had would whine under acceleration. Turned out to be a bad gasket and some parts that weren't tightened down peoperly.

Thats right, it AINT what it used to be.

I have a nephew, 20 years old. Useless, Useless, Useless !!!

plays video games, on the internet, then goes out at night, comes home, eats, then back on the computer, goes to bed at 5 am. All day he sleeps.

Kids are lazy these days because parents forgot how to make "home" just uncomfortable enough to encourage an adult child to move out. If it's your house, Wargames, you get to make the rules. Time to tighten the thumb screws a bit. If you're speaking of how your sibling raises that boy, well, that parent is creating a gollum. He or she will have to deal with it for a lifetime. I just hope that youngster doesn't procreate in the near future.

 

celticwolf, In my opinion, your 57 years young, You have lifes experience, You probably raised a family, bought a home, paid for that home, been here, been there, been in many situations, had hard times, had great times, You have paid your contributions to life. The younger generation has no respect for there elders. At 57 years young , and 1 year of driving, I am no better than you in this trucking industry.

 

Thanks Injun, Every time I see him, he bolts out of there. I give him the riot act. I hit him with everything I got. Lazy kid. His Dad is very well off, gave him every thing.
Its a long story with this lazy kid. But I hold nothing back, with letting him know what I think.
