    Why? I am sure you are not broke as a truck driver. Two weeks pay can buy a tripac. You can write it off too. Screw messing with gasoline.

    The ROI for a apu is around 4 plus years

    A generator setup is 1/12 the cost of a apu.
    Yearly maintenance cost of a generator setup is 1/9 that of a apu.

    I’ll idle the truck before that, I just hate listening/vibrating to it idle, I have an espar bunk heater but for ac and the apu always running anyways so by the time it breaks even it will be junk. I also spent ~100 nights in the truck last year,

    You can get a used tripac for 5k installed.

    You have to shop like when you buy anything. Look on facebook, craigslist, and finally truck paper.

    That’s awesome!! Although it doesn’t look very efficient with all the fins crushed! I bet a little duck tape around the openings will make it a great setup!:rolleyes::)
