The best cheap Redneck APU？

I found one that was promising but bought a generator instead. These are not available at all from Yamaha as they literally have none.

Whoever is or will be using it, the Predator, here is a bit of good info on making it more efficient and running at its best.

PS: they are a bit pricey now, what isn't, yet it worth it at 4+ bux a gallon on diesel. Winter time I wouldn't shut the engine off, summer AC time will buy it in a month of idling.

 

I run a craftsman/generac inverter generator. Super quiet. Not as costly as a Honda but better quality than harbor freight. In my opinion.

 

I met a flat bedder a couple years ago
Had his heat ac unit built in the back of his sleeper and a shore cord that went to the trailer

Then a vented tool box on the trailer with electric fan and a generator. All of it was locked up and he would just plug in at night. Open the box vents and said he barley heard anything as it was far enough back on the trailer

Decent set up if you go that route

 

That’s basically the same set up I got. Keeps the genset clean and safe.

 

I need something like that for nose-in parking guys. They hate my reefer - here is my generator for you.
