Has anyone actually used this in a truck? I read reviews but never one for a truck. Vans, cars, tents and houses. I really can’t see this working well at all in a truck.

I don't think it will need 5x the battery power at most one more battery, the amp draw on the ac is 9-17ah in eco mode. I have the sleeper super insulated, I only need it to run for ten hours at night, that will still leave me well above 50% battery power at max amperage draw well within the limits of the 2 batteries. Also being a small (63" flat top) well insulated sleeper helps me out, The one item that I really haven't been able to figure out the numbers on is how much the windows are going to hurt the cool down, I do plan insulated covers for them also and an insulated cover for the cab so I can completely shut it up if I need to. People run 12v ac in campers and vans all the time they have gotten way more efficient, if I need anything bigger it is actually the solar but I still have the truck roof and a little more room on the sleeper. The one thing I haven't been able to source yet is actually the correct solar panels, they have been out of the ones I want for like 4 months. The one thing I won't be able to do with this set up is sit through a reset with ac going in 100 degree weather without never running the truck, but I do have the capability to charge house batteries with the alternator also, so I can run the truck to supply more power, I can also add the bonus of hooking up to shore power to charge all the batteries but don't really see that being a bonus in trucking, just something that I can do to charge all batteries if the truck sits at home with no solar energy. My numbers come up good if the truck sits in sun that is sitting in full sun, no sun, nosolar energy. So yes there are drawbacks but I hate the thought of an apu for multiple reasons

Pre cool it with truck. Then it works fine, if the sun is down. I used to do tankers and Houston was the base, it's sun dependent down there.
