I use the Trucker Path app and Gas Buddy to narrow down choices. Gas buddy I will use if I am bobtail or I know I can fit a trailer in there. Trucker Path is what I mainly use, but it's important to read the reviews to tell which companies lie about their prices on the app. Another thing to consider is that in states like Arizona, they have different diesel prices for passenger vehicles than trucks. You might find a spot that says diesel is .50 cheaper than anywhere else, but you can get in trouble if you're caught fueling there.
I'm typically getting prices that are .20-.40 cheaper than the big chains.Shotgun94 and whoopNride Thank this. -

In all for the smaller independants truckstops to grow as the main chain ones are taking over too. Idk why or what loves offers on their card. Idk if they really deal with one truck ops.

Also some places offer $1 or .75 off per gal of DEF such as pilot and flying J. Over here at TSH. They put it back in our settlements I think at the start of each month or something like that. Idk

Your def is expensive...everywhere.
In Canada I get it for the equivalent of 1.78usd/us gallon...
It doesn't make all that much difference, don't use a ton of it anyway. Lowest cost I've found is in wi, an independent place near Madison, big billboard offering 1.99.Shotgun94 Thanks this. -
Got a question, so do you use a fuel card as well as the apps? Is it efs? -
whoopNride Thanks this.

I do a lot of short stuff these days, pretty much stay in 4 or 5 states. Don't do a lot of miles per week, so I can pretty much buy locally.
If I still ran OTR I would look into some kind of card. But for me, the cost and fees out weigh the benefits. -
