walmart dc in porterville, ca. This is an older dc but very functional and they are great to deal with. A good load to take if you come across it.

Not all Walmart DC's are created equal. I do have the issue with the clock not starting until paperwork surrendered to receiving. They are requiring work unpaid and not subject to detention. Could be lawsuit in there, but the Carriers won't fight for you. COSTCO rules. Wish all receivers would run whole operation from Guard shack. How simple and takes less people.

Kudos again to Atlanta Bonded Warehouse in Kennesaw, GA. Look up efficiency in the dictionary and a picture of this place is probably there, lol.

I arrived at 1:27pm for a 2pm appointment to load. At 2:03pm I was loaded and pulling out of their parking lot. If only every shipper/rec could be like that!

When it happens, it kind of makes you wonder if something is out of kilter.

Yeah, well... didn't last. Spent 7 hours at Cargill in Gainesville to pick up three pallets. This whole week has pretty much been screwed.

The nicest shipppers I have come across was a marshmallow warehouse in Elk Grove Village, IL; and a warehouse where tea is packaged and shipped in California. Super friendly people towards drivers, and always happy. And the traillers were loaded under 40 minutes!

The two best receivers I can think of off-hand were little locally owned businesses. One was an HVAC repair and sales store in Orlando FL. Had to back in off the street and down a ramp to bump the dock but once I was in the owner told me I could go inside and help myself to some coffee and donuts if I wanted.

Second one was an A/C repair and sales shop in Alabama. Easy back behind the store to get to the dock and once inside the owner said I could hang out in the shop and have some free water or soda from their soda fountain while I waited.

Yes any place that offers free food or drinks is my favorite. Even Nestle waters in north FL and their large cooler of free water. Can't get that kind of nice treatment at Planters, Kellogg's or General Mills...
