It's improving. Media is also improving, coming up with improved ways to get news out to people, so it sounds worse. But if you look at statistics, we are getting better worldwide, less evil, more cooperative.

Just in this country, mass murder has been steadily declining since the 1930s after Al Capone and Prohibition. But it doesn't sound like it because everyone screams when there is a shooting. Its not a political thing, it's a joint effort from everyone and peoples lives improving and getting more and more comfortable.
