Is this your truck and trailer? If I was the company, and you're in my truck or your truck hooked to my trailer and you dont wake up to swap trailers it's now theft and you're gone.
Most people on here may disagree with me but if you're in the company truck or hooked to the company trailer they can call you on duty at any time, they can't make you drive tired but they can #### well make you swap trailers.

I hope that attendant that ran up to a burning to tanker to save a driver's life got a bonus. If I was the driver I would be paying the guy's next month rent.

I'm not reading all these. Getting to be a joke. The area I'm delivering to is rough, somebody is trying to kill me, what's brake fade? I'm glad I'm out of this circus.

You bring up a great scenario.....Very touchy situation-

Me,You as well as many others on here started in days where If you were called on to go above and beyond- You did it- No questions asked.Whether you were thanked or not.

Drivers are differen't today- They're not bad people- But most don't follow the same ethics.....

Like i say- Touchy on this one- Now,If he was awake sitting in the driver seat and he didn't play along because his E-log said no...Then Thats not nice...

Being Asleep-Off Duty in TODAYS world of drivers......I Dunno,

That was in 1976, And the whole shebang burnt, I bet he was glad if he got his last check.
Not only did the station burn, but the electric companies sub station, one of the above ground fuel tanks blew and flew over a two story restaurant lighting it up and hit a plane in the city park that had survived ww11. lol

Hopefully when the roles are reversed one day and he is repowering a load to get himself to the house some new driver makes him wait 9 hours and 58 minutes to drop the trailer so he can roll with it…

here in the winter time, many doctors and nurses and other support staff, don't even get to go home after thier shift ends, if any sort of raging snow storm is bearing down.

if the relief shift cannot make it in, those others have to stay there.

can't recall how many times, 4x4 volunteers, the national guards, and people with snow mobiles get called into action to ferry the workers to and from the hospitals...then too.....you pray to god, there are no emergencies where the fire, rescue, police don't have to respond.

that's how my childhood friend's father died.......no one could get to him in knee/thigh high snows...several days later, they removed his body from the house.

I've only been driving for a few years, I'm only about 24, I've also been around trucking my whole life so have a rough idea what it takes and know your sleep will be interrupted from time to time.
I would've swapped trailers out and not even logged out of sleeper berth, but I have problems with authority, or that's what I've been told anyway.
