    Hey everyone,

After what can only be described, as a nuclear meltdown of a week, I find myself with very little faith, in my once beloved LTL company of 5 years. I'm also pretty much fed up with Van, Reefer, Deck, General Freight Period.

I'm not going to make any big moves right now, I always want to let the fallout and blowback happen first, but god #### I'm just so done with this whole freight industry.

I really want to get in on this construction boom! I don't have any interest in tankers (like at all) but I would love to run an End Dump, Dump Truck/Pup or Quad Wagon. I have some Contacts at Kidco and Otis Excavating, but I don't really consider them "Good" companies to work for. Any suggestions? anyone bombing around Calgary/Area in a Dumper? Am I Retarded and I should just stick to LTL?

    Thanks

I never worked directly for them and it’s been a several years but professional excavators is fairly big, might be worth a look.

Why not tankers, I also didn't have an interest until I found a job paying 20-22k a month so I took the plunge n started this week n it's really easy work. And seems to be an in demand job.

My Dad was a local fuel hauler, never liked the slosh. Also the tanker companies in this city, all want you to go Highway (mostly BC). If someone offered me a Daycab tanker job, I might give it a try. I also won't work for Vedder or any of their offshoots.

The one thing I think would be cool, would be those big pressurized bottles, esp in a super B setup. See them now and again in Calgary, but every second truck up in GP/Dawson Creek used to be one.

I just took a quick look on indeed, for Local Tanker stuff.

KAG, Caron Transport, PDI Bulk and 7 Sides Transport are all advertising less than I make LTL, and all of them say you have to go to BC lol.

Must be some pretty important stuff in those tanks if they're paying you over $5000 a week as a company driver.

Just been hauling water for fracing so far...easy highway run too, only go 5km down a nice gravel road to the site, no tire chains. Easy as can be and $750-800 a shift....plus 1800 bonus a month if i work 15 days a month minimum.

Theres the issue, never work for a bottom feeder company lol...The key is to find an owner/op or small company to work for....that's pays a percentage of truck gross...boss only has 2 trucks..also why I made more than average when I was logging....4 truck company.
