You're supposed to sleep in some sort of clothing...
Who knew?

Was he wearing his Big Rig overstuffed fluffy slippers too?!
-
and many US State LEA's recognize the keyed ignition as " intent"
I have been questioned on said topic and have given my current duty status as off duty"top line" and returned to my grilling and cold beer consumption.
No Key in the Ignition,No Crime!

+1 there bro (Hope you had a great xmas)
I've hauled beer & wine in CA, OR, WA & NV. Neither of the cos. I've worked for had any special permit.
I've hauled loads for small wineries & micro-breweries that gave me a bottle or a 6-pack as a thank you when I was leaving. I just put them in the trailer side box until I got home.
If a cop wants to cite me for something stupid, I can afford an attorney.Northeasterner Thanks this. -
In my permit book right now I have alcohol permits for...
CA
KS
IN
KY
MA
NM
NY
OH
OK
PA
TX
VA
WV
A permit is also required in NJ, however, we get those on a trip by trip basis when we pick up from Budweiser in Newark. -
but in the meantime, you're gonna be sitting a while as well......if permits are needed, then you should have them....the fines my be too much, lawyer or not....
-
just got off the phone with my boss- no special permit required anywhere we haul. He says his insurance is more expensive because we haul so much beer & wine.
He's been doing it for 40+ years & is active in the CTA, so I think he would know..... -
well la-di-frickin-da.......

i had worked for Mr.James Cochrane, the former owner of Overnite, and when he restarted up his new trucking company, Highway Express, we had all his old customers in Kentucky (alcohol makers, you name 'em, they were OUR customers) and we had permits.....Mr. Cochrane ran on a legal system of paying taxes and for permits...
But then he was the owner of Overnite, and he made MILLIONS, and when he sold out...?? a mere 1.2 BILLION dollars the railroad paid for Overnite....
So i think Mr. Cochrane "knew what he was doing as well".......
i think YOUR boss has a way to go yet........to match what Mr. Cochrane did........from his starting of Overnite in 1935.......
