State employees have been selling licenses for years. My home state had it's DOT, it was called PUC or Public Utility Commission, doing that and worse while my dad was trucking and before I got into the industry. EVERY problem is always called too big to fix, or it will take turning the world upside down, and then it gets fixed. It's never too early to declare the end of the world and it is the least reliable claim to make. Once the Feds put CA out of the CDL business, other states will get in line and fix their own problems. There doesn't have to be one magic action that fixes everything to start improving a situation. The media is in the business of saying the end of the world is here AND this one thing will solve every problem. Monitoring the media will prevent one from understanding the world. Their job is to sell ad space, not find and filter the news into reliable bite-sized chunks. Their job is to warn about the next Shark-nado and also the cure for tornadoes full of sharks.

I usually have to look past the misinformation that Sean Duffy spreads in order to get the gist of the message. I agree that a CDL holder in U.S should be proficient in English and majority of the Punjabis I spoke to are. There are truck drivers who were born in the US that take shortcuts that have killed way more people than the Singh guy that did the illegal U-turn in Florida. CDL Mills shouldn't be a thing imo. Shouts out to the states that are doing their part to make sure that the CDL holders meet the standards for safe operation.

I agree with what you’re saying about Duffy because for the most part, all we have to do is look around and we can see that there’s a problem

    BrothaTrucka513 Thanks this.
