Riley is a very good recruiter. He is helpful as all get out. When I went through Swift school in '09 at Millington I was one of very few who didn't have to have additional info faxed in because the recruiter "forgot" to tell the student they needed the info.

Midnight at the oasis. No news today... er I mean yesterday. I'm seriously thinking about driving down to Laredo to see what's going on. I mean, you'd think the Driver Manager would at least drop me an e-mail or text me or call in response to my queries. I hope she's alright. This is starting to get to me. I so need to get behind a wheel and start getting Paid! Anybody have any thoughts on this? Is this normal, really?

When I went a few years ago I had to wait three weeks for a trainer. I went to Phoenix for orientation and the samething happened, a few went out right away, the rest of us got sent home to wait. By the time I got a trainer I had already found a local job. The funny thing is I might be going back to Swift in a few weeks......lol..Hope you get a trainer soon....

I love it. Great equipment with APU's, nice facilities all over the southeast and midwest, home every weekend and I average 2200 miles a week. They'll hire with 4 months solo experience but you'll have to go out with a trainer for 3 weeks. They pay $600 a week for the three weeks.

You have to wear a uniform which I don't mind. They are actually very comfortable. Some other dress code stuff as well. I wasn't fond of the auto shift at first but my first trip through Atlanta on the parking lot they call 285 my clutch leg fell in love with it. LOL

I had just under a year solo and they started me at .35 cents a mile. .37 if you have over a year solo.

2 am and I can't sleep. I've got to find out my situation but no response from the trainer manager. She has answered my calls or e-mail, what gives?
Karen says I should go down to Laredo and find out what's up and I sort of agree. I'm just worried I'll piss someone off and get assigned some trainer no one else can stand. I'm willing to go to any terminal to hook up with a mentor. I can go with the wait but why no response? I just don't know.

Get in touch with Bluebonn. I believe he's about finished with his current student. He lives near Austin so when he takes hometime you can actually be at home instead of a motel somewhere. Don't drive down to Laredo. There seems to be a shortage of mentors in some areas and they don't want to have you sit in a motel. Keta will get it handled.

Thanks 21CAV is that "cavalry to the rescue"? I'll try to locate Bluebonn but I don't think mentors get to choose their students. As to Keta, I have tried every way I know how to get in touch with her to ascertain my status but she has not once responded to my calls or e-mail. I'm wondering if she's sick or on vacation. Otherwise, I would think simple courtesy would have her just talk back to me or e-mail me. I know these guys are really busy and I got the feeling Laredo terminal was a little short handed but well ya' know...
I hope I'm not just being p$s&y here, just tired I guess.

WHOOHOO!!!! I just got a call from Keta! She says they're going to have a mentor for me today and she has been under the weather like I thought.
Thanks to everyone out there you're a bunch of great people!
I'll try to post when I can but you know how it is out there. Be assured I won't just vanish like so many others unless I'm dead sooner or later I'll post again. Gotta run and finish up my bag and odds and ends. Be safe out there and Don't let the Minahunees get you.
