So my trucks headed to the shop for a Preventative Maintenance and for the most part they really do not have to do much, but I would like my bumper fixed repaired what ever. Over the summer my truck was in an accident while I was away in Maryland and the front bumper got toasted. Well it's all mangled and looks awful and I don't see them getting rid of my truck anytime soon as it's only 4 years old so it's got another 5-6 years to go before retirement I think they said and I'll believe it when I see it, but next year or so the 2007s will start to be phased, out but I doubt it most of those are still going strong so they will probably want to get another year out of them. Especially up here in the north we have a lot of the older stuff the newer divisions have newer equipment. I know they said they were going to get rid of all the International's from 2006-2007 which was the end of the Sterling Era, but so far no dice there are plenty of Internationals as spares still floating around.

Plus this year our warehouse got 14 new tractors so I doubt they will be getting any new tractors this year coming up, but I could be wrong.

The truck I have is fine, it's just I would like a better bumper then I have. Doesn't have to be new heck they could even repair the one I have now fine with me just straighten the darn thing out.

Anyhow what's the odds that the shop will get the ball rolling on a new bumper? I'll say 12 months for a new to go on.

Well you know that's a great idea, I'm going to head over to the Swift board right now and see if there is any one driving a Swift Volvo that's white in color somewhere with in 2-3 hour radius of my house and get my tools and head out.;)

It took two hours to get Saturday's delivery unloaded.

Word to the wise. Expect that when you show up at a building supply house with 8 different PO's.

Hey guys what's the maximum hours of service you are allowed to work a week is it 60 hours or 70? Just curious thanks.

It depends on the company, Mike. Some follow the 7/60 rule, others abide by the 8/70. My company does the 7/60, I like it that way. 60 hours is too much for me! Lol. I'd say most LTL's do the 8/70.

I believe that depends on the company and whether or not they run on sundays. Our sleeper trucks run on sundays, so they give us 70 hrs.

Pensky and Target Trans Logic had part time job openings and I am trying to save money and would like to supplement my income. Target Trans Logic is a real real second-third rate mail contract hauler and has terrible reviews on the internet, but they do have a Saturday night run 4:15pm-7:15pm and pay $20.00 an hour, although I don't know if that amount of money really honestly ads up to a hill of beans big picture wise.

I would say it would be more hassle than anything trying to keep both logs going and making sure you have your 34 restart in there. Just my two cents.
