    New Yorker,
I have called one office and they sent me to an attorney's website and no reply back from the attorney. The DOT man never got back with me either but that doesn't surprise me. I have gotten virtually no where with any New York authority, that is why I have had to make numerous trips to the city from here on the coast in North Carolina. I will keep trying however; and will not give up until the coward is apprehended. I will be posting a message for this person to come forward. Last year Josh was here with us at this time so my wife has had a very difficult time staying here in the house and has sobbed constantly in the past week. She is not crying now though, but not many people cry in their sleep. Thanks to all as alway's, Merry Christmas and drive safe out there!

    Dear New Yorker,
I am currently working with a private investigator on the trucker that killed my son Josh. The detective wants to know a few questions that I hope you can help me with.

Do large rigs go thru the 12th street and Westside highway crosswalk on a regular basis?

If they go South-where do they go to?

Where do they get off? Canal Street and take the Manhattan Bridge?

Can they take any of the tunnelsto go through to Jersey?

A witness spotted a white tractor trailor at 3:30 am on the morning of September 18. As I have said before, this witness say's that he saw this rig backing up to go around something in the road (my son Josh), the trailer was unmarked as well as the cab. Could this have been a local trucking firm? I am all alone here on this investigation other than with the help of you truckers. I hope you can help on these questions!

18 Wheelers cannot go thru ANY tunnels in NYto get to NJ period unless they changed them since I have been there.
I am so sorry for your loss and pray that you will find some peace.

Any businesses in that area that have a dock?

What Nightwind posted is right about the tunnels. And any driver in his right mind would not cross through 12th, he/she must have known the that street or was told to take it to get to a stop. Because he would end up getting stuck, there's much easier ways. Unless his stop was real close (before Hudson(?)). Dock's I think would be unlikely they park (double park) in the street and off load. heading south from there yes most likely he mad the left on Canal and took the bridge or went up 1st Ave depend on where he was headed, I know that sounds out of the way but it's quick, and definitely at that time of the am. Much of the Westside hwy trucks are only aloud on for a short time (2-3 blocks) before they have to get off. Below Canal is way to narrow for a rig unless he would be heading to the WTC site area. I think/hope I helped answer your questions. But if your PI is NY based he might already know all this.

Thanks Nightwind- I am doing all I can do on my own and with the help of all you truckers. Alot of you have filled in some clues as to what type of truck I am looking for and where it can drive. Thanks to all again for your help. I know that the driver that cowardly drove away after he ran into my beloved son is also reading these posts and if he had a daughter who cried in the shower at night so other family members can't hear her at the loss of her hero, he/she/it, might be a real human being and go to the 6th precinct and turn himself in, this might ease my broken heart, and the anguish of a mothers heart as well. Thanks again!

I'm not a trucker yet but I am an ex-police officer. I don't know what NYPD has or hasn't done thus far but maybe this is an idea your PI can pursue. Even a vehicle as large as a tractor is going to sustain some kind of damage when striking a full grown adult. At the very least there will be some kind of (I'm sorry, there is no good way to say it) tissue, blood, hair transfer onto the vehicle. Try checking truck wash and repair places. Someone may have noticed but then accepted the drivers explanation of deer/dog accident especially if they knew the person and wanted to believe.
Hope this helps and I'll say a prayer for you and yours. God bless.

As I have mentioned before, thank you all for your caring and correspondences. I have put together many things through everyone's help, and you all are helping by just viewing this post. It has been six months now since the tragic loss of our dear son, brother, nephew, grandson, and absolutely trusted friend, Joshua David Crouch. People have said to me and Josh's mother that "it should get easier with time", well it is actually getting harder to deal with over time. We have to stay on medication just to get through the day as well as to sleep at night. The first two weeks after the crash are like a blur to us and unfortunately really do not remember much of what was going on during that early time. We have a very close connection of "real friends" and our family is very connected as well. Everyone has done so much and they all know that just sitting with us, crying with us and just listening helps in a big way. I still hear my wife and daughter crying at different times of the day and there is no more I can do to comfort them, that really hurts! Joshua was/is such a caring and sensitive person that New York just ate him up. He was too nice a person for such a place. But he loved the city and made his mark. I am thinking over different scenarios that may have happened; maybe a fast moving police cruiser hit Josh, or a wrecker involved with the police. I know that someone knows something, maybe a police cover up in itself. Friends and family members have started a memorial fund in Josh's name, basically to help with the reward money, as well as our continued investigating and traveling from Wilmington to New York giving information to the authorities. I will ask the administrator if it is ok to post the address and, if not then they will have it for those willing to help. Thank you all again, I will keep you posted on any progress, as I will not stop until it's finished, Josh would be doing more, that's just how he is.

    Respectfully,
    Jimmy C
