This enrages me and I hope to hell that someone brings a medical malpractice suit. I was a sleep tech before I became a truck driver and some of the things I am hearing are totally outrageous and negligent. One of the most important aspects of CPAP familiarization is correct mask selection and fitting. Any professional knows that the mask is NOT supposed to be overly tight. In fact THAT causes leaks and skin deteriorization as in your case. Someone needs to step in because CPAP is an incredibly helpful treatment but these buffoons have turned it into a damaging and traumatic nightmare. I am sickened and disgusted for the true sleep medicine professionals who are being tarnished by scammers like Crete.

Is there really a way that crete knows if your using the machine or not and for the amount of time they want you to use it? Is it hooked up to the QC or something?

Sounds like this whole CPAP thing is two-fold.

    1. It's a money maker for these clinics, and medical supply businesses. The trucking company of course getting a cut of the action.

    2. It is a CYA for the trucking company. Truck driver has heart attack, crashes, and kills someone. Trucking company says, "Look, we did everything we could to try and prevent this".

I have sleep apnea. Was diagnosed and use a machine. There is no DOT guidance for a one year card. I informed the doc at my physical and received a two year card. Submitted the long form to the state as required and I'm all good.

Yes, the cpap machines that Crete has are equip with wifi that's directly connected to the machine. they know if you're using it or not by the the back pressure of your exhale. Crete requires a driver to wear it for at least 4 to 6 hours.

How much battery power does it use up? I've been wanting to go on CPAP but wonder if it's worth it if it will drain my AC power all the time.

Also, just curious but does "South Bay" refer to San Jose area? And if so, where do you park when you go there? I need to visit relatives there but the closest I found to park was Stockton. Thanks

I'm in southbay area of Los Angeles...Redondo Beach. You will need at least a 400 watt inverter. Not sure if it will drain the battery. I had a APU Unit in my truck so I never had to worry about power.

Crete has gone to the junk yard a few years ago.. I worked for them seventeen years, then gone injury "on the job", and there big time lawyers find ways to make sure that injuried driver's don't get there "worker's comp".. So, make sure you don't get hurt on the job, working for crete..
