I just read on the dispatcher forum that I'm a bad driver, they have several threads ABOUT me.

 

What's the dispatcher forum you talk of? One thing that puts me off about Crete carrier, they want you out 4-6 weeks on certain locations...I feel more like a prisoner...Owner ops it says on their website 21 days home time a year? Anyone care to explain this?

Reason why as an O/O that I said "no thanks" to a recruiter is that Crete seems to think they are going to decide just how long you will be home. You "earn" your days off just like a company driver. I own my own business and will set my business hours as I see fit. Otherwise I was considering Crete at one time.

 

I was an independent contractor at Crete for about 14 years. I took off as much time as I wanted. 3 or 4 weeks a couple of times. I went home every Christmas thru new years. I went home every holiday if I chose to. I haven't heard that Crete limits owner operator hometime.

 

Ditto. My experience as an O/O at Crete over a five year span.
