I left because of trucker burn out. I had been so long OTR, staying out usually 6 weeks at a time, felt I really had to get off the road. I guess I am the only driver that ever did that.

Nope....I've started the application process at several tanker outfits close to home. I'm about done with OTR...

I pull tanks local. Sometimes OTR but never out more than 2 nights. We get paid by the load. 25%

Hey, how can I get those scrolling advertisements to go along my posts? and even better, how can I get those ads put on my facebook? is there a way of profiting from this simple advertising?

I would love to work 48 state again, but I would do it only with team driving; yet having had multiple partners and many, many heated arguments - the only way I'd do it again is at 0.47 cpm minimum, and with the company having a large pool of available drivers, agreeing to swap team drivers every 16.5 weeks (21 on/5off; 32 on/5off; 32 on/5off; and 21 on/ 5 off) and guaranteed 2400 per week but never more than 2700, 85% of the time we can keep on-duty time between 8-10 hours within the same 12 hour shift and work off of recap, truck APU equipped and governed at 67 mph cruise control minimum, and without the anti collision auto-jakes device. In the mean time, THE CASH IS IN THE OIL FIELDS, for now.

agreed...rail cant do it alone.....roaddog quoted the % of how freight is transported in the USA.
    15% by rail
    80% by truck[
    rest by ship/plane/etc...
no way rail will be able to replace trucks...if they could they would have already as railroads have been around longer and most are subsidized by the fed anyways..
