I'm promoting the defazio bill .
Stopping freight at the border , US freight hauled by US drivers .
And ending the job stealing ( remember Ross Perot and the quote he's famous for) NAFTA treatyzentrucking Thanks this. -
And before all the Canadian drivers get all worked up , I'm sure after nafta is ended a separate treaty with Canada will be made so you can keep hauling freight in and out of the US
zentrucking Thanks this. -
I would like to see it go back to the old way with freight transfer warehouses at the borders and US truckers hauling the freight that comes into our country.

I would like to see that as well.
It would be the best option for US truckers.
Let's push as hard as we can for as much as we can get.
American truckers first is my guiding principlezentrucking Thanks this. -
They could use the vacant parts of Detroit , build warehouses and it would be a boom for the whole area.
zentrucking, HopeOverMope and silverspur Thank this. -
I'm sure these proposals would cost companies more money , and pure free traders will gripe .
I say tough crap if your company wants to leave the country to chase cheep labor , why should they be subsidized by cheep foreign trucking to bring goods back in .
Maybe some of those sell outs will see the light and move backLast edited: Oct 12, 2017

It is NEVER going to happen. With the amount of goods that flow cross-border, especially U.S. to Canada, the amount of additional infrastructure that would have to be built, plus the handling costs, delays and damage would significantly increase prices and decrease quality.
gentleroger Thanks this. -
