Being new, they're informative only because you've yet to learn.
YouTube trucker videos are like truck stop lunch counters. A lot of talk, a little of it entertaining, even less of it informative.kitcarguy Thanks this. -
Leasing a truck benefits the company, they don't have to pay for repairs, fuel extra...
And they don't pay you the going rate for miles. Most leases end in failure. However there are some exceptions. But in my opinion its a bad idea.Gabe2790 Thanks this. -
Best lease purchase scheme I've heard, if bottom line is given highest weighting over all else is to be a trainer at a mega that trains running team style. Make all the miles the truck runs, so gross 6-8k a week. Clear 3k or so.

This is how I am viewing it. As I’ve stated a few times (its almost like a few need help in the areas of reading and comprehension) I have zero plans of owning the truck I’d be leasing, rather, using it to earn exponentially more. I would then use the increased cash flow to position myself to either buy a used truck and go through it with a fine toothed comb, or finance a new one. Probably the first option.
Either way it’s as you said, a tool.
Thanks for the input.slow.rider Thanks this. -
If you want to get into the business , id thats really where you want to go in this industry, then by all means start where u think is the best place to get in at. You are in for an experience no matter where u get in at. It sounds like you understand the pitfalls of a lease but also have a goal in mind to not only own a truck but to see the real numbers for yourself. A lease is a great way to do that without actually owning the truck ... The only thing i will caution against is what i said earlier , about how u get your freight. You really are set up for failure if its thru a dispatcher. Its best to be able to have the ability to work and book loads on your own ... If you are wanting to run flatbed or stepdeck , the company im with has one of the best lease purchase programs out there, but we only do open deck

....almost.... except for the fact that you posted in the lease purchase forum, and even titled this discussion lease purchase....

You make a valid point. My comment was based on the fact that I had stated a few times what my intentions were.
Also, I didn’t see a forum titled “lease from a company in order to make more than I would as a company driver and use the extra money to buy a truck”

Thanks for another great reply D.
Would you be able to share who you are driving for?
Your advice about the dispatcher isn’t falling on deaf ears; I’m actively searching for a more favorable scenario. I have a few things preventing me from just being able to take my pick of companies. Nothing legal or record related. My experience is all either on the slope is AK or local.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
I might have bought this line, if you had titled the thread differently.
