Roadway Company as late as the late 1990s and early 2000s was still using those Ford C units in the city!

I think those Budd cabs were a great design, the driver sure knew where the limits were.

Nice topic, I admire when people put in a lot of work and detail and you obviously did.

Have a slight error though, the term 'wholesale' is actually a single word.

The first ramp truck I ever built to haul my race car was one of those bad boys. Has a 351 converted to run on propane in it. I liked the lil slidey doodad for the air brakes instead of a yellow knob.

The ones I remember the most were Roadway blue. Lived near a printing plant as a kid and they ran up the side street by my house to get to the dock. They looked like a big toy truck. Now that I know more about LTL, it was probably the same one every time.

Yeah Roadway even into the early 2000s was still running those old Ford C units in the city.

Back in '02 when I was between driving jobs and working as an order packer in a computer warehouse every day at 5 sharp a horde of YRC trucks would come in to pull out their pups and run them to their local barn and one of them was a model C(think it may have also had an air starter).

Never been in one, but I imagine they cornered well.

When I fist got mine we would try to go as fast as possible across the lot and lock the brakes up to see if we could get the rear wheels off the ground..... unfortunately we never were able to. But yes it was a pretty easy truck to drive but felt weird when you turned because you didn't really feel like you were turning, you felt more like you were swinging to the side.
