I've had a few 2 year cards...the exam that was easier than most was by a "DC" Chiropractor and the most thorough
was by a FAA Pilots medical doc -- the diffrence in charges was $25-$125 bucks...
They both tested mainly the same things: vision, hearing, reflex, movement issues (neck back), 1 cked for hernia the others did not.
All checked weight height and blood pressure / pulse rate. Also all checked to see if you have sugar in your urine.
I'm not obese by the charts (although IMHO I don't agree with the numbers on the chart)--NONE DID A BMI or MEASURED MY NECK!
Don't worry driver...just go and then remain healthy like WOLLY said!

Little off the BMI subject but a bit funny if your taking a physical with a pee test.
I had a DOT scheduled for early A.M. Got up, 1st thing is pee like always- showered and off to the clinic...
But at the clinic when I had to pee in the cup--I could only make it 1/2 way up to the line they had drawn on the cup and then just a dribble. I was fresh out--so they sit me in this room and give me 40 ounces of water to drink before I try again in about 35 minutes--man was I embarrased until others with 40 ounces of water are arriving into the same waiting room--then I did not feel so stupid. After about 30 minutes I was able to overflow that cup--even the nurse was impressed. :biggrin_25512: Moral of the story--if ya pee before you take the test...drink some water about a 1/2 hour before you arrive at the clinic!

Im getting ready to start school and have had similar concerns, but I had gastric bypass in April and I'm quickly dropping the weight. I'm 5'7" and was 298lbs but today I'm 226lbs with about 40 more to go. Already had my DOT physical for school and everything was good.

Took my D.O.T. physical yesterday and all went well. I am 6' tall, 265 pds. Pretty easy actually, check BP, eyes, hearing, urine for blood and sugar...

Well went in for my physical today and got my 2 year card. Everything was fine except my weight. I could tell she was trying to find more wrong to send me to that sleep apnea bs because of my weight. But my neck was 16 and half and blood pressure was 108/72. Both normal and under. So she writes on my long form, patient admits being over weight, and denies having sleep apnea. Kind of pissed me off as it is eluded that she was concerned about it ONLY because of my weight. I hate that they treat every patient as they should all be shaped, same height and weight etc. My whole family is short and stocky, just the way we are so it bugged me she wrote that crap on there. Anyway everything but weight was fine and normal and got my 2 year med card.

I am not a driver or have a CDL but had been looking into it because of recent lay offs at my company of 16 years. I decided to use my current insurance to get a sleep study on myself a few weeks ago even though I have none of the symptoms such as tiredness, snoring and such, all of this just in case I have to go to trucking. My overweight brother has been on a cpap for more than 20 years and I am 6' 370. My resting pulse is 68 and my bp is 120/80, yes, they could use my bp in a bp machine brochure. Imagine my surprise when my doc called me up to do a second sleep study because I have a severe case of it. I just got fitted for a bipap machine with O2 added.

Just because I did not have the symptoms did not mean I did not have sleep apnea. I wish I would have gotten myself checked earlier.
