Yeah that sucks. Hope you make enough to cover the extra costs. A friend buys and sells manure. Same deal stockpile all winter cause you'll need it in the spring . Deliver like crazy right about now and try and get money by mid summer from farmers who are busy in the fields. Fun fun.

yeah pretty much, most the work i do takes 30-90 days to pay, the only real difference is you take a few months off in the winter and have to start over again in the spring and put the money out before the cash flow starts back up. but of course you know that going in and plan for it still doesn't make you feel that much better...lol in another month i can be looking at the same page and be smiling again...lol
i actually kinda thought posting this would help aspiring o/o's understand that its not a good idea to get a truck have a grand left in there pocket and think there going to go trucking and make it.Last edited: May 23, 2014

I know that feeling!

That's the reason i sold my belly's and end dumps I hated waiting so long

Always got to put money away for future expense. I have enough saved and credit available I could run my business for at least a year without a cent of income. Now obviously i want to make money, but, it not just the gravel industry that doesn't pay when you deliver.

That's the reason we can't run w/out the proper compensation. Cutthroat trucking hurts everyone. That statement looks like my monthly cc bill, haha aggggggggg.

The weather is getting better by the day, should be full steam ahead soon hey Ezi?

yeah its almost been down right hot here this week. upper 80's-lower 90's *F my air conditioning is working awesome after cleaning my condenser cores out over the winter. have to turn it down off max unless you don't want goose bumps...lol got Sunday and memorial day at home. did some work on my truck yesterday. washed greased and some minor repairs ect and then mowed the grass at the house, probably sweated a half gallon. considering our last sub freezing temps low was only a couple weeks ago this heat is a bit of a shock to the system...lol
been working quite a bit lately 5-6 days a week most weeks. spring time road restrictions i would think will be coming off any day now. witch will make for a lot more options for work.kw9's rock Thanks this.
