ELD device and monthly payments are six digit number money. Enough to lobby this regulation.

 

It should be telling that the 'trucking alliance are all mega carriers with 100% turnover rates and governed trucks. Of course they want logs mandated.

Really? How does it level the playing field when you have 10,000 trucks and I have one?

 

If they want to level it then mandate that we also all buy equipment, fuel, tires and parts for the same price... fair is fair

Why change something that has worked for years....bout like the speed limiters....62 mph is more.dangerous then my 70-75mph truck...

 

You are wasting bandspace. Like it or not it is a done deal. Unless your President interferes.

 

So o/o will have access to go in and change their logs from a laptop. So why do they want to mess with charging the little guys with all that money? It doesn't make the job any safer.

 

Imagine this press conference:
"Congressman Foghorn, is it true you are supporting a movement within a segment of the trucking industry that would allow drivers to continue to record HOS records with a pen, ruler and carbon paper like has been done since 1935?

That doesn't sit well at all with the overwhelming numbers of his constituents who drive cars and hate trucks. Political suicide.

 

Really want to level the playing field? One driver, one load. No swaps allowed unless injury or illness.
