Being a atheist has nothing to do with the point I was trying to make .. that just slipped out..I know how he likes to debate I 'am not going to derail this thread by turning it towards a Religious vs unreligion debate like I said to each his own
It's just been with most my encounters with the tree hugigng PITA supporting vegans they are quick to inform people they are atheist also

You know sadly there are rotten apples in every barrel.. and I won't defend their actions .. but 99.9% of the cruelity you speak of is done by some low paid idiot that doesn't even like his job at the harvest facility and even there it's pretty rare
i promise you from.my lifetime of Experience 99.9 % of the farmers and Ranchers that raise or handle livestock treat the livestock with respect & care
Just because you happen to see 1 or 2 Ytube clips of a news clip .. that was is rare occasion
So please don't come on here posting that all the cattle havested are being tortured just because you saw something on the internet that might have even be made up just to get you to belive that.. hell you don't know that for a fact do you ?
Can you honestly say you have ever seen catttle being ( tortured ) with your own 2 eyeballs ???
I doubt you have ever had any 1st hand experience with how a harvesting facility operates have you ???
I really rubs me wrong when make statements like you made not really knowing the facts or the sistuation..
It offends me and all the others involved in the livestock industry we pride ourselves in treating livestock with respect

 

What “unnecessary cruelty exists”. As a rule. You do realize stressing an animal before killing it is counterproductive. It makes the muscles tense and the meat tough.

 

I could see this from the beginning. They are chasing the almighty dollar, not a world without global warming or healthier food. Their target audience is not people who don't eat meat, as they represent an extremely small percentage of society. Their target audience are people who want to cut back on meat, which there doesn't seem to be a lot of. Combine that with how expensive most products are and that pretty much limits their growth. The food also isn't really healthy when compared to other alternatives.

One could argue the "unnecessary cruelty" aspect about slavery. What was really so wrong with it? Only a few bad apple slave owners would torture their slaves, everyone else in the industry cared about them. They gave them a place to stay, free food, free transportation, and they even got to learn a trade from the whole experience. If you've never owned slaves, you wouldn't understand. If God didn't want them to be slaves, he wouldn't have made them so good at it. Etc, etc.

Which brings up another point. If people are tired of hearing about Atheists, maybe try not to bring God into the conversation. It's crazy how a lot of people seem to think beer, candy, and sports stars should stop shoving things in their face, but it doesn't apply to shoving religion in other peoples' faces. I don't know what people expect from a thread like this, other than confirmation bias and cracking a few jokes with the fraternity, but a lot of the outrage is kind of self inflicted. It's all fun and games until the cowboy with the emotional and education level of a 3rd grader gets his feelings hurt, which is stressful enough already since now there is one less beer brand he can cry in.

If veggie burgers are not real burgers, should hot dogs be renamed since they're not made with real dog? What happens when chicken fried steak doesn't have any chicken in it?
