EV’s suck resources to, like meat. I just pointed out that the ethanol market was gonna take a hit…….

And then the jump that someone must be for the complete opposite agenda because they disagree with mine. EV’s are not the answer.

Just pointing out the humor I find comparing cattle to slaves held against their will while also mentioning EV’s in the same thread, that’s all.

As far as cattle being “held” someplace unable to leave, people originally put up fences to keep people from grazing on their land, they didn’t do it to keep their own cattle on their land. Lots of ranches ram lots and lots of cattle on lots and lots of land without fences back in the day.

There is no proof of deity we can so far see, people BELEIVE certain things, but thats why its called faith.

For a more advanced sapient species to beleive in a deity, that would mean we have hitherto unknown obstacles to sensing the divine that they have overcome, im not saying it couldnt happen, but im very skeptical of that being the case.

If i were in the buisness of proseletyzing about there being any deity, i would probably posit that they are chaotically inclined, mostly malicious, but mostly inneffectual.

Have to disagree, we are EXCEPTIONALLY different from the rest of the species of animal on the planet, conciousness, an outgrowth of sufficiently advanced sapience is a massive rift between us. A 3 year old child has more conciousness than any primate.
I dont disagree to them feeling emotions, but thats not a compelling arguement beyond not treating anything with the capacity for pain with cruelty. (And while i find fish tasty, im not going to be so stupid as to suggest as some people do that they feel no pain)

I respect that people that object to treating animals poorly and are thus vegetarian comes from a good place. But i dont agree that it is a moral imperative to not eat meat for any reason perhaps beyond actively forcing out farms/buisnesses that inflict horrible conditions on their livestock, this is less an issue in cattle production than it was in the 50s to early 90s. There is still quite a bit to be done in terms of poultry i may concede though.

Yep nothing beats the real taste of prime steak bar-be-qued on a Sunday afternoon roast. while watching our favorite driver in the Indianapolis Verizon 200 at the brickyard.

Filet mignon strips, lightly sauted to medium - medium rare in butter/cinnamon-sugar, then placed in a lightly warmed tortilla

    Eggs optional.

But clearly the answer is YES

I think this all started when we had the cartoons were animals could speak, and have feelings.
If you ever had some of those onry critters, coming out of Florida, run you over while you’re unloading them, you would gladly turn them into a steak.
