The fake meat fad has finally been exposed as a complete waste of money

I have ran into just the opposite to be honest. But again I don't put any thought into much of that kind of stuff. I love animals and also understand how we need to survive. Nature is worse in so many ways as well, life is not fair in any way to anything!

Was watching my pup a couple nights ago chasing flys, he loves to chase and catch them and eat them. He managed to get one right before bed time and decided he was gonna take it to his little tent area and play with it. Of course he tortured it and then killed it by playing with it.

 

A plant doesn't show anything resembling emotion or suffering. Many of them will regenerate at the node beneath where it is cut. It sounds like you're trying to be logical about it, but your bias is showing. You're calling a legitimate lifestyle a disease, while suggesting that people lie to themselves to live in bliss.

Veganism is the fruit of a lazy approach to biology.

Just because plants have much older and more evolved systems to interact and perceive their environment doesn't mean they necessarily lack similar response to stimuli of other forms of life more familiar to us. For example, we communicate primarily through visual and auditory systems while plants communicate primarily through chemical systems.

But none of that is relevant to the fact that veganism proposes an arbitrary hierarchy of life that places animal life above plant life and according to you suffering is a key differentiating component.

Why is that arbitrary response to stimuli somehow the deciding factor (presupposing plant life don't have a similar system that produces a version of suffering)?

 

Also, cannibalism is the only morally justifiable dietary practice with very strict guidelines governing grocery shopping to ensure a level playing field for all involved. You really need equally matched opponents to stay as moral as possible.

Unfortunately I'm a heathen and not that moral. But hey, at least I'm not a plant racist.

And calling vegetarians diseased is out of line, sure meat is tastier than plant matter, but making a lifestyle choice to not consume flesh is well within the bounds of normal, no matter the reason, from not liking the taste, to religion, to perceived moral boundaries

 

Non irrigated farm land is a rare thing on the world scale... Much of the USA would be nothing but range land if it werent for man made irrigation.

 

Science deniers such as yourself have a hard time grasping the well documented fact that there exist other systems for perceiving and interacting with natural phenomenon such as the vibrations of sound waves without having components of a system (in this case ear drums) common to humans.

And calm down amigo the word disease is a very useful term without you adding unwarranted negative connotations.

The most important centerpiece of this argument you trip over yourself to avoid is the critique veganism constructs an arbitrary hierarchy of life to signal baseless moral superiority to coerce others to their diseased cause through shame tactics.
