The first time you"did it", how long did you last?

With or without a partner ??

 

My first run with a trainer, my first round of driving lasted about 2 hours. It started snowing, and getting a bit too dicey, and so he took over. It was only a few days before I was up to the full 10 hours of driving. I drove under the old HOS, so we didn't have 11 hours.

 

6 hrs. Sumner to Spokane run.

 

First time?

2 minutes, maybe.

 

I was given control in Mt. Vernon, MO after about an hour sitting in the jump seat listening to my trainer. I used up all 10 hours available to me back in 2003. I crawled into the bunk at the Pilot in Eaton, OH completely exhausted, and 110% confident I'd chose the right career for me.

First run was only 5hrs but from beginning I would run 11 if distance permitted...IN my personal car I get tired to the point of my eyes closing in 10 miles, never happens in truck...

 

First day in the truck, I drove from Urbana, OH to Brooklyn, NY under the old 10 hr drive time. Used my full 10 hours under the old HOS.

 

Its not something I want to remember.... #### Alzheimer's..,why do I remember all the BAD times..I MUST HAVE had a COUPLE of GOOD times..
