I feel like this will be put off for a few years till the new truck manufacturers have a chance to make it pass government tests???

Government doesn’t do tests. They will look or even pay for studies run by the manufactures of the anti collision devices. If a group is doing a study, bendix, insurance companies, and the ATA deep pockets won’t be far giving the group $$ It’s all about money. Put the small fleets and O/O out of business. Company drivers for life.

This is how I understood it. Starting in 24 for example only all trucks will have to have it installed from the factory. I also. believe the dealers will not be able to turn them off once they are from the factory.

Legal system is the problem. Too many get a tap on the bumper and believe they're entitled to a million bucks.

Thank goodness because trucks equipped with this never wreck ever since it was put in fleet rigs! It's a miracle!

Dealers won't disable them now anyway from what l heard. You can do Trucking Answers on YouTube trick, cardboard about the size of the front sensor wrapped in aluminum foil and colored black with a permanent marker. But then you have no cruise control.
