Here's a Catch-22, since they don't have much of sign anymore, then, they can't attract traffic and customers.
If they can't attract customers and traffic, they can't stay in business. Or they may be able to stay in business, but not do the volume that they would like to do.
But in order to get a sign made to attract more customers and business, they have to have the money in the first place. And where do they get this money from, from those customers and traffic that are passing them by because they don't have a large sign to attract customers.
The food is killing us!

I'm sitting here at the Rocking Chair Truckstop in Cuba, AL right now... yep, this place is about as old school as it gets.
I'll give ya a report on the food in a bit.
Edit:
They make a pretty mean steak sandwich. I had that along with super hot, fresh-out-of-the-oil french fries and a sweet tea'$7.66 with tax'sure beat the hell out of Rotten Ronnie's. I think this'll be a regular stop.Last edited: Sep 3, 2009

Yeah, I know. It's Marketing 101.
In this particular case, the truck stop owner leases the restaraunt space to a third party, who has no control over the big outdoor sign.
The truckstop owner collects a set rent amount regardless of diner sales.
But I agree it would be in his best interest to replace his sign(last hurricane took it out) which would increase overall traffic in his establishment. -
This place is in my top 10, maybe top 5.
Good price on daily specials. Mix or match from a dozen sides or have a vegetable plate. Always good country food. My favorite is the big bowl of pinto beans with a slice of onion and cornbread.
Located in Adairsville GA, home of my stock car hero Awesome Bill Elliot.
As with a lot of these places, can't see it from the interstate, but it's about a quarter mile west of the exit on Hy 140.

the only place where i wouldn't mind dying after consuming their food is johnson's corner in loveland, co. their cinnamon rolls are worth the sugar intake. i managed to eat half of the roll. the other half is for later tonight.

the rest of their food is awesome, by the way. -
Well shoot, I was just by Adairsville the other day. I ran a load up to Trion and ran right by that place--albeit at 5am. I'll make it a point to stop in there next time through.

No, you did good. Notice the empty lot and the pumps roped off?
I was freaking out, thought it was closed up.
But sign on the door said they were closed for remodeling and I saw people in there working.
That's a good sign I guess, as long as they don't screw with the food.
I know all about Trion Lol. Not bad, but I always end up coming from the west and have to climb that mountain heavy coming out of Alabama. -
As Beavis & Butthead would say that bun rules.
I see where you are from. I am southeast regional now but ran out west for years, mostly across the bottom. That little place in Gila Bend AZ next to the motel at I-8 was one of my favorites. Not only the best Mexican food, but everything else was good too. -
Glad to hear it. When I was running strictly east/west I was through there every week. Now, on this regional deal, I'm more Florida to the Carolinas, maybe over to Jackson MS every now and then.
I hope this lady can hang on to the place because it's going to be my regular stop again. -
i haven't stopped there before. i usually drive straight through gila bend.
and, yeah, huh huh huh huh huh huh, that bun RULEZ! hehehheheheheheh heehheheheheh!
