I was delivering to an Italian place and after I had everything in the cooler I asked one of the servers where the manager was, she looked at me dumbfounded, so I asked her "Donde es manager?", she looked at me like I was crazy and said she'd go find somebody. All the while some big old country boy was giving me a death stare because he didn't like me speaking Spanish. I returned said death stare until he looked away. Then the manager showed up and I was able to collect the check and leave.
Learning a little Spanish comes with the job, especially when I'm picking up at farms. Great thing I've learned is that a lot of the people working on the docks at the farms speak fluent English. That way I don't have to worry about butchering Spanish as well as English. Heh.

When I lived in Chicago I was a background extra on a showtime show called shameless. Does that make me LA? Haha

Never leave the pad without packing a gun... A portable air gun lol. Night was going good started at 12am had 700 cases off in 4 stops by 7am when my dolley tire started to go flat. Had 60 cases of KFC chicken on top of 25 cases of BWW wings. Plus about 50 cases of frozen chicken. Just killed my 2wheeler tire. I don’t have two cause you have to get your own for the 2nd. Last 3 stops 300 cases were a nightmare. Took long and started into lunch rush hour which took longer and plus not knowing the route. Good ole Extraboard. Pulled into a gas station. No air but there was a Vato Zone next to it. BTW I’m in BFE NE for a layover. Bought a portable air compressor and some fix a flat. Looks all good now. Got 3 more stops 250 cases and I’m done for the week hopefully.
Working my tail off the last two weeks but I’ll take that 1550 a week pay. Can’t wait to see when I go up two more pay grades what that’ll be.Cardfan89 Thanks this. -
Dang that sucks. They fill our dolly/hand truck tires with roofing foam to prevent flats
