I’ve had some foam filled tires but don’t really care for them.

    Carrying spares is pretty easy.

    Radman and Mike2633 Thank this.

Ours are a mix of solid and air filled. Some of the carts have one of each.

Is it the slow time of the year for you guys? Last few Saturdays have been slow and last week everyday. And of course they hired a bunch of new guys

I almost wish it was. We keep adding drivers, and everyday theres still more work than we can cover in house. Out of 8 drivers, in the last 2 months i think there has been a combined total of 7 lunches taken by a driver...

When you’re constantly understaffed, there is never a slow time.

We did have a week in October that I heard a couple of our extra board drivers had a few days at home.

    Radman and Mike2633 Thank this.

Yes it is. Local harvests are pretty much over with. Customers are ordering less and less. One guy is leaving to haul scrap and one guy is coming back after leaving for six months to drive a trash truck. We had one salesman leave(which leaves us with one) to go to the company that bought the company that he worked at before us. Everything is pretty much on cruise control for right now. Where it ends up I have no idea.

Well, the last month I have been only getting my restart off. Before that it hasn’t been crazy busy for me. I was enjoying the time off.

I’ve noticed a lot of new hires have been retreads. Guys that got let go from other FS or drivers that left didn’t see greener pastures and came back. I hardly see a drivers coming fresh into Foodservice from just driving jobs lately. I think I was the only one over the last 6 month. We are starting drivers at full scale or almost full scale and a huge bonus if they are prior FS. I wouldn’t doubt if it jumps up to 10k. From what I heard the Grocery side here is hurting bad. So bad they are willing to hire driver trainees.
