Had a new new fresh from school driver. I was kinda training for a week. Out here on our driver program our guys get sent to Werner school just to get his CDL. Then we get them back and they drive for 52k miles before they get released to be on their own.
He told me all the Werner noobs were asking where he was going. He told them McLane. They started telling him big mistake you’ll unload, they suck, Bla, bla, bla...
He said they posted all the job divisions at Werner. OTR, regional, dedicated accts. They also posted the pay at each division. He said their dollar general or dollar whatever acct was the highest paying. Well I’ve done dollar crap before its unloading a 53” by hand rolling down rollers out the back of the trailer. It can be a stop or multiple stops in one day for a whole trailer. It’s pretty grueling if you ask me. He said the top pay was 45k a year. He said he just sat there and smiled.
Our new noob drivers with a fresh CDL will make 52k guaranteed on the lowest pay scale. Likely he’ll make in the 60’s on the lowest grade here. But they’ll be home 4-7 days a week. I guess this is a terrible job.

So basically just keep doing things like when i was in training since so no one said anything then. Im not gonna let them take advantage of me. I'll own up to my mistake as far as pricing some things wrong that was my fault and im actually kind of thankful that manager is going to go back and double check the pricing just in case. At least she's not being a b about it

See thats my issue i have it on good authority because i have talked to most of the drivers they do it the same way I've been doing. They're the ones i learnt it from. Im trying to do a good job but im also trying to get done on time and if at all possible earlier than 5 pm
