My God did we have a terrible day today at our yard and it was everyone the whole entire group. I don't know what happened it was like the bottom fell out late trucks I mean late late I was seeing guys back at the yard on Friday afternoon that I normally never see.
I haven't had a day like this in a long time I don't know what happened, but the warehouse lost there marbles over night and it made for a difficult situation.

I might have to jump over to foodservice. With automated trucks becoming more of a reality I need to figure something out. I'm not sure if I should apply at US Foods or try delivering beer instead.
-
Think automated trucks will be here that soon?
-
Absolutely our newer trucks are all going to be automatics. They ordered a couple as test units and the company liked the automatics and the drivers gave them good reviews and pretty much headquarters made up there mind that, the autos were going to be the wave of the future.

What a week... I worked my day off training a new guy. Then today I had to pick up 2 backhauls made it back to the yard with 30 mins to spare. 63.5 hours in 5 days I'm pooped lol
jmz, Mike2633 and authentic251 Thank this. -
Foodservice probably pays a bit more than beer, but you’ll probably have to deal with a bit more bs.
Also, by automated trucks do you mean self driving? They can’t even get self driving cars right at this point... You won’t have to worry about trucks for several decades at least.HeckTribe, Metallica88, McUzi and 1 other person Thank this. -
We have some automated systems at work and uh sometimes they work good and other times like yesterday when things go wrong they go wrong in a hurry.Metallica88 Thanks this.

I did mean self driving trucks. I hope you're right. It seems like something that really wanna do is have self driving trucks on the road because of the boost it will give to the GDP.
Sorry not trying to hijack the thread. Just watched a report on them and it got me thinking I might have better job security doing food service or beer.
Anybody know if the US Foods in Pittston PA is Union? -
Don't know how your loads where but my load was good. Paper work stopped printing at 2am though. Add in the weather and crappy road conditions. I ran a school route to WV with a new driver, so our paper work was already printed at 1am. We had drivers leaving an hour plus late with no paper work. They got tired of waiting.Mike2633 Thanks this.

All of our loads were awful it seemed our entire branch had bad loads. We were way behind the 8 ball on Friday it was not one of our better days.double_r Thanks this.
