Everyone thinks that until they go through their first Florida summer with 24/7 swamp ###, lol. I love it though, I grew up here and can't get away from it. I get chilly when it drops below 70, so when I see the winters in the rest of the country ... I just can't haha.
Nice dude grats! I don't think I'll ever stop driving trucks. I enjoy it enough, it's not perfect, but nothing is. I've tried a few different trucking disciplines the last couple years, but there is something about hauling fuel that I like. I think it's all the little things that you don't think about until you try something else. I have a slight interest in going O/O in the fuel game, but that will be years down the road if I do, haha.

What's that mean? I don't follow Cali too much.

So California is backing automakers to produce alternative fuel vehicles. The new kid on the block is fuel cell vehicles that run on highly compressed hydrogen. The company I work for has the majority of the contract to produce and deliver this H2 or what is advertised as "Smart fuel".Woodys Thanks this.

Well I'm all for the exploration of new fuels. But I'm glad it's not us ... yet
Cali kid Thanks this. -
So this popped up in my news feed the other day
Georgia truck driver gets prison time for illegally dumping 3,000 gallons of fuel
How hard is it just to call dispatch and tell them you goofed?bentstrider83 Thanks this. -
It's not hard at all. I'd rather get snarled at by a dispatcher, maybe even get a couple of days of punitive leave, then wind up in jail.
Plus the fact that when he gets out of jail no decent tanker outfit will want him.Woodys and bentstrider83 Thank this. -
Old story out here in Cali was told about a fuel hauler doing the same thing off the side of a road. CHP happened to cruise on by spotting the driver and off to jail he went. Freaking crazy man, like the company wont spot 3,000 gallons missing.Woodys and bentstrider83 Thank this.

Everyone makes mistakes, how you rectify it is what separates the good people from the bad.

Looks like another one in the "prison-to-low wage service job-to-prison" pipeline. Recidivism is a hard issue. But at the same time, you got to wonder about those getting locked up for idiocy like the one posted.
