Yeah on load pay for a smaller company i was lucky to see anything above 26 an hour running balls to the wall. Don't miss those days. I agree with you about 85% of the time, but there are load pay companies that do pay well.

WR Hauling out of Utah runs very nice W900 KWs and I've talked to several of their drivers. All load pay but its $450 on the low end per day, usually $550-600 to run your 14. Easily can break into $150-160k territory. I just ain't doing anything but home daily if I can help it personally.

I’m on load pay right now and will never do it again. Hourly is the way to go.

It's like corporate welfare. Socialize the losses, privatize the profits. Every delay cuts into your pay. If everything goes right, you still make less.

It looks like I jinxed myself and am going to have to eat my hat. On load pay now. And it's a bit of a pay cut. 110-120hrs every 2 weeks. Comes out to shy of 2800-3000 gross every 2 weeks.

But after this paycheck, funny enough, on load pay, with mileage pay (for exclusively city driving btw), a good 300 bucks have been missing out of the last pay cycle.

I like fuel but as is always the case, the scummy trucking company ruins it.

That blows...so is this a new company you came to or is this the same company? Dont understand why you have to eat your hat. Also, I prefer crow.

Same company, they switched to load pay because they think the drivers were milking the clock. As it turns out, under the new pay system we're turning out around the equivalent of 25/hr when we were around 23 and some change before.

Soooo.... That means payroll has a whole lotta "whoopsies! Hundreds of dollars are missing from your paycheck! Lol, sorry."

They went to convoluted load pay to cut payroll expenses. Apparently they were too ####ing stupid to do the math behind it and found out the drivers actually aren't lazy and we run a lot harder than they thought. So now they just don't pay you for everything. In 1 month in the new system I've lost about 700-800 bucks in wages I was supposed to be paid. So now I'm down to making like 22/hr. The day guys are getting slaughtered though, this new system has them making less than 20/hr most days. Morale is dead, even in this bloodbath of a job market, 1 driver quit (out of 6) and a dispatch girl (out of 3 dispatchers) quit so we have 2 dispatchers covering all of WA, OR, NID, Norcal, and Kalispell/Missoula. They're on call WFH 24/7 with 18 hour days fixed schedule.

I'd cut and run immediately but I'd have to move to get another job plus when I quit LTL this past spring because of coming layoffs, I look like a job hopper. Maverick was hiring here but they had a job listing last for a few hours before they got so many applications they had to take it down. Didn't even get a chance to apply.

Also, our load pay isn't a fixed amount like how Maverick runs it. We have a rate for unload, load, splits, and mileage. It's a laughable insult to be a city driver and get paid mileage. A stop can literally have 2 miles from the rack and you see a mileage payout for $1.00.

Honestly I'm thinking about getting a lawyer, we didn't even get notification of this pay system which is illegal. Not to mention all the missed wages that management just ignores.

The fact they would even try load pay in that area of the country is laughable. You have companies paying over $40hr in the PNW!

You had 6 drivers covering all that area, or are you talking about only your yard?

I mean still doesnt hurt to apply. Worst other companies can say is no. And if they ask why youre leaving you can tell them the truth and any reputable company would understand. For that kind of wages and thievery id be moving across states to a better job if I could land one.

Yeah tell me about it. A studio apartment is over 1500 bucks around town.

No just 6 in our area.

Looking into it for sure. Got my eye in the oil patch but it seems slow atm, gonna see what winter brings. I don't have anything tying me down to anywhere.
