That company has a high turnover rate so if your worried about missing an opening no worries. Just let them know you have a tight schedule.

App to williams tank lines while you're at it. Pacific tank lines = PTL = Pay by The Load.
Cali kid Thanks this. -
Williams pays straight time only. Actually that seems to be the norm with Vegas fuel haulers.

Yeah but I can vouch for this company. They got my start in the fuel hauling business. While they only pay straight time, their insurance benefits are subsidized. Before Williams, I worked for a company that did pay OT and they cut corners everywhere else they could, like not paying for pre/post trips (illegal), trying to put the time clock in a place that is difficult to access and in such an area that you have to clock out before actually finishing your duties. Or they wouldn't have good benefits, they'd charge you about $800 a month for a family.

I'm looking at joining a fuel hauling company this summer. I've looked at jobs in a few states around the west.
Some of the jobs are union, Teamsters. I've never been in a union but my only reason for joining them would be the pension I hear about. As I'm 51, I'm starting to think about that.
Is this Teamsters pension all that I've heard it's cracked up to be?
The other companies I've checked into just have 401K with company match, but it's a very small percent.
Any thoughts from you guys would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advanceBentleyB Thanks this. -
The Teamsters pension is indeed all it's cracked up to be. The thing is, there are no guarantees that you will get one even if you land a Teamsters job. The pension is contract-specific. And you will not be able to look at the union contract until after you accept a job offer and sign up at the union hall. And pay Jimmy Hoffa's successors $700 for an "administrative fee." These companies lie like crazy man, do your research before accepting an offer. Most union companies are a step above the rest but management tends to hate the union and employees. I have mixed feelings about it. It really divides the workplace, but sometimes that dynamic exists even without union representation.Rodeorowdy Thanks this.

Don't forget not all teamster shops have a pension. Ours doesn't just a 401k but it's a good one.moloko and Rodeorowdy Thank this.

Anyone from Seattle area got any good companies you can recommend? I'm currently driving for Air Liquide (cryogenic liquid gasses) and thinking about switching to a fuel company. I have 6 years of CDL accident and ticket free exp. Sentinel got a location in Renton, but on their app it says:
"Maximum allowed suspensions, revocations or cancellations of driving privileges from moving violations or accidents None ( includes person vehicles)"
I had my license (non-CDL) suspended back in 2006. Would that mean I'd get auto-disqualified? Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks. -
What makes you want to give up cryogenics? Most of that work is at least still mostly private Fleet vs nearly all common carrier for fuel.
As far as qualifying at sentinel it's up too corporate as they have the final call when it comes to that. I'd put in an app if you're really interested, worst case they say no right.xitman Thanks this.
