I went from TMC last year to yanking a tank this year (tiddie juice) and it's been some of the easiest money I've made (until the ice arrives...looking at you surge). I won't make as much this year, as I did last year w/ TMC...but I've not had a single day of stress in 2020 at all, while last year I avg 4 hours and 43 mins of sleep per night, and my first time ever having high cholesterol. This year I'm avg just shy of 8 hours of sleep per night. I don't think I could ever work another 14-17 hours/day like I did last year. I start to whine if I hit 10 hours now. How soon we forget our roots...

I never did food grade tank, but a friend of mine does. He has way more waiting time, mostly unpaid, than I ever did with chemicals. And even though my first 2 hrs were unpaid, after that my demurrage paid until I was loaded/unloaded and done. Food grade tank drivers want to get a lot of miles. Chemical tank drivers, not so much.

Some of my best weeks as a company driver were sub-2000 miles. Lots of sitting but it all paid and it starts to add up.

I've delivered many loads that were sometimes days late and never heard any complaints from the customers. These were regular runs though and they had an amply supply of the product in their storage tanks. I think the company still gets fined due to contract stipulations, but nothing will be said to the driver if he got the load after it was due to deliver.
As for delivering early you will soon figure out which ones won't take you early so might as well sit tight and get in a 34 reset if you can.farmerjohn64 and 650cat425 Thank this. -
I'm leased on to Trimac out of their Bayport branch and run super regional. Trimac also runs out of Beaumont. It's the only outfit I've been with and I'm not going anywhere. Honestly, at my age, no one would want me.
