I cannot figure out why on God's green earth this response is remotely relevant to the topic at hand.

Hes military. See trucks go off road all the day is long.

Thinks maybe big rigs in our highways can do the same. Eureka! No they cannot.

My schooling is very brutal decades ago, very exact simple commandments about 15 of them.

One of which is you do not take a big rig off pavement without a VERY good reason.

I think most of the farming construction oil and logging industry would disagree about not taking trucks off the pavement. In fact my first time behind the wheel was in a barley field in Montana.

    Sure, you bet.

My focus is on ordinary OTR trucking.

Trucks that do offroad are purpose built, I have had a number of those jobs myself. And told some stories about them.

I don't want any new person to OTR interstate to go running off pavement, they will get stuck in a hurry. Thats the overall goal of my position.

I get where your coming from and definitely wouldn’t take one where I would take a 6x6 military tractor. But most of our rigs that pulled out grain trailers were just high mileage retired fleet trucks. I had one where you could still read allied through some faded spray paint.
