I was looking at Sliders and a few 7 yr old Pete snub noses. One in particular near home. 500k miles, 5 years old, 10sp.

That Pete with 500K miles looks interesting depending on its history and engine.
-
Interesting in a good way?

This is the one. The details of price and miles are different than the Truck Paper I picked up.Last edited: May 10, 2014

Checked a few more, they're all pretty much same price, though some come with 200k 2 year engine drive train warranty. I think this is the model truck I want to try for.
Going to check out one near me tomorrow. Hometime this weekend. -
That Pete 387 only has one thing I don't like and that is the automatic. I like the Cummins engine and those 387's are a nice ride, the miles and price are workable. Like I said, if I were in the market for a truck right now I would be looking at that unit. The second truck has more miles than I would like for the asking price. You can add an apu to the lower priced truck and still come out ahead. You would be about $2000.00 less on a truck with 100,000 fewer miles. If they will give you the financing that they are offering your payments are close to half of what you would get on a company lease/purchase. Here is something else to consider, if you purchase rather than lease, the truck will be titled in your name with the finance company listed as a lien holder. That means your new business will start out with assets.

Apparently I have ok taste. The auto would be nice for those Chicago slog fests. Anything like this would be a nice first truck then?
This ones right by my house. Will see in person today. -
I would stay away from the Acert Cat's.
That is why i would not want that second one.jeepnut_nh Thanks this. -
No to Cat, yes to ISX.
Any issues with the Paccar option?
GR Kenworth has quite a few for me to look at. -
