The good news-the radiator was covered under warranty. The bad news- the alternator on the apu went out again. So I have to idle for cooling and power. I just had the alternator replaced about a month ago, so I am not a happy camper.

even if its 2am beat on the door and hide between the truck and trailer HAHAHA :biggrin_25525:

there was a roehl driver i talked with a bit at a TS that was beside me for the night, later on when it was just getting dark I kept throwing cheese-its crackers on his hood and in front of his truck without him noticing, after about 2 or 3 mins of him not seeing me do it, a flock of seagulls were all over his truck and in front of it going crazy, it took him about 15 mins to figure just out just what the hell was going on with all the birds loving his truck hahahhaha

So, anyone else listen to the voicemail about the new wonderful "streamline and less downtime" way they want us to do Maint and repairs?

    :biggrin_25510:

I'm not gonna rant "Much" yet, but WTH! how is that suppose to help anyone but the office? I'm still trying to figure out how in the world we are even suppose to do it that way in may cases..

Yea I heard that, boy what a way to introduce himself. No hi guys or nothing. Hell Eric everyone knows trucks only break down mon-fri 7-5 never on weekends or at night. I don't see why we can't just call maintenance and get the money? Why do they always find a way to complicate things.

Yea no kidding! well thats my thing, he even said it was to streamline to make it less downtime for us, how the hell is that, when we have to do all the crap how he said. i mean i have an example now.

I need a starter and/or solinold. have no idea what it will cost me cause i dont know which dang one is it, it could be either, it could be both, so i would need to call a spefic place say in the morning to find out what it will cost, for either of the three. lets say

    $200 for soilnoid
    $400 for starter
    $550 for both

( i have no idea just making it up)

how in the hell am i to call my FM let him know when, where, what and how much the repair will be. then get there and get it fixed and if its not done till 1900 and it is 100 bucks more then first quote for whatever reasons i have to either spend the money out of my pocket or tell them, "sorry i cant pay you the remaining amount till the morning" they will say, "well we cant release your truck till morning"

How the hell is that suppose to help me streamline my time? makes no sense, its our truck, our money but we cant spend it on repairs without all that crap. hell its easier to cash out a 401k before you retire then get the money for repairs!!

    I think two things

1, its just the ppl inside the walls thinking it will make it easier when its no where near practical.

2, what better way to force you to get your repairs done at a Roehl terminal than to tie your hands up and making it next to impossible to get work done on your schedule. that way they get to keep the money as well to have serious work done by a glorified tire changer ( not all but alot of them are) lol

    Wedge Thanks this.

    Amen to that,

when our loads start getting turned down and being late cause we cant get repairs setup during our 10 hr break, thats gonna be my excuse is the new repair policy.

i will be testing it soon lol
