Those pre EGR trucks are out there... So of them are getting pretty long in the tooth by now, but with alittle TLC and lots of cash, they can be made to be reliable and productive again. It is pretty easy to still get alot of parts from Peterbuilt, if you are willing to pay, and then there is always the aftermarket. I think it would be great to do a class 8 truck, I have done cars and pickup trucks before. A full restore of a big truck would be alot of fun.

I am really looking at a glider, get a new truck with a pre EGR motor.

I would love to find a pre EGR 379, that would be a great set up.

I'm looking at I65 truck sales. it is straight forward financing on normally some really nice trucks. there I can get my dream truck for $31,900 my payment would go down almost 500 bucks a month. just gotta save up 25% down and enough money to cover my household budget for at least 2 months. I'm excited I don't wanna leave roehl but their way of dispatching us and the sliding pay scale really makes me feel like a highly paid company driver. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do yet as far as whether or not I will stay here, I know if I went to landstar or a company set up like em I could make the same money and be home a whole lot more.

I bought my truck thru Arrow truck sales and have been really happy. I left Roehl for SNI and thier choice board. I am very happy with them. I looked at SNI and Landstar but with SNI being so big the chioice of freight it much greater than that of Landstar and none of that broker BS.

That does give you alot more control of your destiny than leasing a truck from a carrier. Good luck as you continue with SNI.

I have heard some good things about that program but if I leave roehl I will be going to a 100% o/o company. Also I'm not crazy about e logs. I know someday we will all be on em but if I leave roehl I don't want any computer in my truck. Other than a laptop. That's not an eliminating factor of course but I do really like landstars setup.

Anyone know what truck stan golden went into? Called to talk to him today and was told he went back to driving, not doing the recruiting and such anymore

Amen. That's why even though a lot of people think I am nuts to give up 70k selling cars to drive, I know it's the right move. You have to be able to look at yourself in the mirror and be proud of what you see.
