Thanks for the info, it looks like I may start driving a log truck Monday just waiting on a few things. I think to cover bases I will apply with Heyl as well.
Thanks again

Heading home. I'll have about 1 hr remaining on my log when I get back to Zephyrhills tomorrow. I think I'll stick with my usual 2.5 weeks out for a while. It was 4 weeks this time. Every little bit $ helps, but i need to hold on to my sanity.
I got some quarterly totals:
32,480 Miles. No $ figure yet. Anything over 28K pays an extra .05 a mileThat averages out to about 2700 mi a week with 16 days at home.

Last week I just had a good reason why I'm not looking forward to e logs. I had 2 stops, one in London, Ky, and the second in Orlando. I picked up my load at 6am in Ft. Wayne, In and drove 300 miles or so to my first drop in London, Ky delivering to a Walmart DC. I got there by 11:30 or so, I got to the truck stop in the same town, but still 3 miles away for a 7 pm appt. After delivering my load I still had 45 mins left before my 10 hours was up, according to my paper log. But with the e log it would have started up again both times I went to the DC and back to the truck stop. But those occasions don't happen all the time. I can't bash e logs to much, I know I will get them eventually. The rest of the load was going to Orlando, and I was taking it to Georgia 200 miles away to give to a driver to get back home. I don't know with the e log when I would have had to start my 10 hour break at since I moved the 3 miles. (hope all that makes sense)
Took that load from Ringgold, Ga to Minneapolis. Had snow going through Wisconsin on April 1!!! The load I picked up next, I think was the shippers fault on what happened. Got empty and got a load picking up in St. Cloud, Mn for later in the day. Made it to St. Cloud, then 15 minutes later I got a message to hold up, load changed. Now the pick up was in Wisconsin, 200 miles in the opposite direction that I was supposed to pick up, but it was the same Jennie-o shipper, oh well, still got paid to go to St Cloud, then to Wisconsin. Now sitting in Ft. Pierce, Fl waiting to the morning to deliver the 2 stops in the Miami area. Sure is great to be out of the 30 degrees up north and now in 85 degrees, I will take that anyday! -

It's been a while since we've seen Baracuda! Since I wrote last I've been to all the corners of the country. I went from Florida up Jessup, Md. From there I picked up a broker load, yuck, out of Deleware (first time I've been in Central Deleware)that went to Cleveland, Oh and Moberly, Mo. We Don't do broker loads that often, but this one was annoying. I realized I am glad that Heyl knows where I am at all times, and I'm not getting a call at 7 in the morning asking where I am, then 3 people calling me after I unload if I got unloaded, eeeh. Went from Moberly with 13000 lbs of rubber to the LA area. Fun going over the mountains with a light load. From there went up to Bakersfield to pick up Ice cream that delivers in Spokane, Wa.
I enjoy every time I go across I 70 in Utah, Central and southern Utah is the most beautiful place anywhere in the country. Just amazing how the earth can be formed like that! -
Hey edavies78 just wondering how is your hometime living in Killeen? Does heyl take students?? I finish school this friday and the only company that I seem to like and will hire is Crete but was told that hometime might be a problem living in Austin yet I see Crete trucks all the time.

Yeah been pretty quiet here lately.
Last I posted I was in Galveston, TX. I got a load of pineapples from there to Dallas and a yogurt run from Dallas to North Platte, NE. Next morning I swapped trailers with another Heyl driver for a load of juice that took me home to Portland.
After spending a weekend home I got back to my truck and got a load from Salem, OR to Chariton, IA. After I delivered that I had to go to a shipper in MO. I got there at 7am and ended up spending my entire day waiting for a trailer to get loaded, which wad done at midnight. That meant I'd have to run nights for next few days to get to my 1st stop in Houston, TX on time. That receiver was pretty lame and took 7 hours to unload a handful of pallets and made me late to my 2nd stop, but they were understanding and took care of me in no time. I'm at my final and 3rd stop right now and will be heading to Galveston again to get a trailer from the drop yard.
Edit: Got a load going to North Platte againLast edited: Apr 18, 2011
