Ugg... Week one:
1: 16 hour layover (my fault, showed up a day early)
2: reefer breakdown
3: 24 hours waiting to get unloaded because they wouldn't take the load early.
4: 5 hour delay at shipper, making delivery impossible.
5: flat drive tire that I have been waiting two and a half hours (and counting) to pull into the shop...might miss relay now.
None of this was Heyl's fault in any way, just the way the cards were dealt this week. But seriously, c'mon.
I'd ask what else can happen, but I don't want to know.

Everything aside, I still managed to get 2300 miles this week and made some decent coin. So once I get the hang of how Heyl does things, it shouldn't be a problem to make great money here. Everyone at Heyl is really friendly and helpful, I absolutely feel like I made the right choice.

Keep up the updates! Glad to hear you're enjoying it. I'm looking at Heyl myself, as I will be moving to the Portland, OR area soon. Don't really want to leave my current employer, but from people I've talked to I get the feeling they are run very similar. All depends on how the pooch takes to not riding with me.
Keep up the good work and keep on keepin on. Be safe! -

I'm gettin the hang of things here, I actually like the e-logs, which kinda surprises me...didn't think I would. Things have gone really smooth this week so far, knock on wood. I've already put 1,300 miles behind me & it's only Monday night.
My truck seems to be pulling the hills a lil better, maybe she just needed the carbon blown out. Or, more likely, I'm learning how to drive it the way it wants to be driven. I've decided that I don't like the 8-speed at all, but it is fun passing all the 62mph trucks. To think, that could've been me...whew! Other than that, I Love my truck...now to figure out a name for her, I'll let ya know.
As for Heyl, still liking it very much here. They don't babysit you, bother you, or want you to do anything even remotely illegal. I get my 10 every night and hammer-down everyday & they don't bother me at all, refreshing to say the least. I have not had to wait for a load yet, as soon as I send my empty call, they have a load ready for me. The most I have had to deadhead was about 90 miles.
Gotta get some sleep now, more miles tomorrow!

Still going great, haven't done the math yet but I think I'm right at 2800 miles this week. Getting the hang of things and been doing really well hitting my goals except while I was going through that dag-gum blizzard.
I did make a boo-boo this week that cost me an hour or so...rush hour traffic in Dallas, TX, I trusted the GPS & it headed me straight for a 13'1'' bridge. By the time I realized it, I was committed to the turn. Had to pull it over to the curb & listen to all the passers by tell me how stupid I was...good times. Then Dallas PD shows up, I'm thinking "here goes," but they just asked what they could do to help & blocked traffic so I could whip a u-turn. Then they thanked me for not being a dumb arse like the countless other idiots who run underneath it. That was a relief, kudos to the Dallas PD, I was not expecting that.
