Oh no you had to ask.
It is my only complaint so far with them. I have a ClimaCab . Its a battery powered one. Works good and all but kind of defeats the purpose of Providing power. I like to all it an Auxiliary Draining unit instead of an Auxiliary Power unit. I still have to run the truck to power appliances and such through my little inverter.
So far I think I am the only one in the whole fleet with this thing , like a guinea pig or something.
I get so #### jealous looking at all those brand new Carrier units just sitting in the yard on new trucks waiting to be assigned.
Oh well I figure if I run hard enough and put enough miles on this Truck they will have to park it for awhile and give me another so it doesnt exceed its lease miles early. LOL like that will happen, but it makes it easier to not pitch a fit over the truck every chance I get. It is a great truck so far and never even a tinge of problems so I don't bad mouth her too much in case she hears me and starts acting up.![]()

Thanks for the info I look forward to applying in 7 weeks once I am at 6 months. I talked to recruiting and things sound good.

I enjoyed a few days off at home and now I am back on the road. I picked up a load this morning going from Lake Wales, FL to Clackamas, OR. This load is just over 3k miles. Not a bad way to spend the week going from coast to coast.
My truck has the rigmaster apu and it's performance has been less than stellar. I look forward to the day I can switch trucks and get a better apu.
My truck has geologis system in it. I guess this system is the competition for the qualcomm brand. -
My apu is giving me fits. It is overheating and leaking coolant when the cover is on, however, when the cover is off it is running fine. I think the cover may be preventing the apu from getting enough air flow. I guess from now until I get it back to the shop I will just have to keep the cover off when I run it. Gotta love those high quality rig masters.

Here I sit at the AmBest Truckstop in Little America, WY. (This place has the best showers).
Other than my defunct APU this trip is going just the way I like it which is safely and without incident. I called the shop about the APU and from what I learned this is not the first time this company has had the very same problem with the APU. I was told the radiator is bad and they will have to find a replacement. In the meantime, I was given permission to idle the truck if I needed to to stay either warm or cool.
I spent the night last night in Grand Island, NE at the Bosselman's Pilot. That is one of my favorite truckstops. It has two movie theaters and the wifi is free along with being much faster than my aircard.
Since I ran 650 miles today, that only leaves 900 miles to make my delivery. I don't have to run very hard the next two days and it will leave me enough time left on my logbook to start heading back east without taking a 34 hour reset. The Challenger Thanks this. -
It's nice to hear reports like this about a decent company. There aren't that many around. Their site says over half their drivers have been with them over a year, so that makes their turnover less than 50%. Big difference from the bottom feeders 100% ++++

I made my delivery this morning in Clackamas, OR. Other than my miserably failing APU it was a nice and quiet trip. The entire week the qualcomm only went off once and that was just to tell me I made a 2 cent fuel bonus from my last time out.
Even though I have just over a year of trucking experience I by no means consider myself a "seasoned" trucker. The other morning I descended Cabbage Hill on I-84 west for the first time. For safety I waited for the sun to rise before starting out. I was glad I did. I would not want to imagine going down it for the first time in the dark. It is not a long drive, however, the sharp curves added in with the 6 percent downgrade could make for a wild ride if the truck gets away from you.
Once past Cabbage, in my opinion, comes one of the best drives in America. The drive on I-84 along the river is one of the most scenic I have ever done. I wish I could have stopped at Bridal Veil to take pictures of the waterfall, but they won't let trucks park there. I definitely want to come back and do it again.
Not long after sending in the empty call I was given my next assignment. I am going from Kennewick, WA to Houston, TX delivering on Wednesday which will be over 2200 paid miles. The Challenger Thanks this. -
Barracuda, can you tell me:
1) Does Heyl have "FORCED DISPATCH"?
2) NYC or Long Island deliveries?
3) Health Insurance? Type? Cost to driver?
4) Retirement plan? 401K? Roth? Company match?
5) Hometime? Days off policy?
Thank you inadvance for your assistance!!!
P.S. I reside in southern MN. -
Good questions I think Barracuda or Frago can anwwer them
KingOfHibernia Thanks this.
