i love my day cab truck. kenworth T660 18 speed 4.11 gears only 382K miles on it, what's not to like? assigned route, i know where i am going everyday. when i went to truck driving school, from the very beginning on my career, my goal was "i want a local job, i dont want OTR". i was 3 months into my career and i was doing local work (dump truck), less then 1 year im in a local tractor trailer.
not to mention it keeps me away from the major cities, my route is all rural driving..... i have less idiots in 4 wheelers to deal with..... i have to watch out for somewhat poorly plowed roads.... when its crappy i slow down.
the impact a $15 per hour minimum wage on the trucking industry

increasing minimum wage that quickly is going to have a bad shock to an already weak economy in NYS...... they can lie and B.S. all they want, ny state is not the land of opprotunity
TaterWagon#62 and bzinger Thank this. -
some people dont understand why i would want a local job, i dont understand why you would want OTR. different strokes for different folks. at the end of the day, EVERYTHING we ALL do out on the road everyday matters. i know allot of drivers that also work where i work and they don't want OTR either.
bzinger Thanks this.
