Will knock out 1 more load for the week. A load from Trappe, MD to Cincinatti, Oh that delivers at 10:30 in the morning. 638 total miles so that should put me at a hair over 3,000 miles for the week. Thinking about doing a restart or try not to get another load until Wednesday so I can start working off Recap. Decisions decisions. Well yall have fun now ya hear. :)

Dog on HOS and silly me accepting the load knowing it would be tight, but I just had that darn White line fever. Well Have to reschedule Cincinnati load. 200 miles away and no hours to get there. Broker just called. 5 am appointment now.

Here's what happened. Get to shipper they take 3 hours to load me. Then have to go get fuel and scale out at TA in Jessup. More time off the clock. Then I take the route my company wanted. 70-68-79-70-71. Well barely made it into Ohio b4 my 8 hour clock was ready to go out. So if I take 30 minute break. It will only eat more away out of my 14 so. Decided to do an 8 hour break instead and see if they would take it late. No go on the 1300 eta I had for them. Also I forgot that 68 was like the bloody rocky mountains. I couldn't make no time going up those hills at 35mph and the Police were everywhere. So you had to be careful going down them as well. Probably could of made better time going 70 to 76. My truck has never felt so life less. I'll know next time. And knowing is half the battle. GI JOE

I'm an owner op who went on e logs a year ago and its a love hate relationship,I for one do not care to work more than 70 hrs a week so now dispatch can't try to push a load on me when my hrs are almost up so I like that aspect, however it does suck when ur two hrs from home after being gone for a couple of weeks and u only have 30 mins left before ur 14 is up or even worse ur 70..that is the biggest thing that bothers me.

It only bothers me for a few minutes if I am out of time and an hour from the house. I have established several locations within a 60-90 mile radius of the house to drop a trailer. I then select OFF DUTY DRIVING and bobtail on home. No harm, No foul. Creativity was the hallmark of paper logs, it can be with Elogs as well. When I want to get back in the game after going home, I bobtail OFF DUTY DRIVING back to the trailer, then do a hook up / pre trip ON DUTY and take off. Only issue with the carrier in doing this is that I make sure and put a notation on the log when I do this to explain. Occasionally, if I am within 45 min of the house, and the location is one that I don't mind leaving the tractor at as well, I have the wife come and pick me up and we go out for supper then home.
