The Jamie Davis Towing Discussion Thread

It's no secret. He even has said He wish he didn't go so big so fast at the wrong time.

 

I think I pissed off the producers a few years ago. I made several comments on their FB page asking whether or not they were filming in Fort Mac. They were staging their trucks just up the road from where I was living at the time. Saw HR52 roll into town on their lowbed their first morning in town.

 

Al Quiring is a true professional, that is for sure. I have never met the man, don't know his reputation but from what I have seen on the show he does his job safely and correctly without much drama. That says a lot in my book, especially with the tv producers trying to cause drama for ratings!

And, if the praise above was meant for me, thank you, but really there are many operators out there much more skilled than I am. I do have extensive knowledge of the towing industry because I am a third generation tower, but since I do not do it everyday anymore I am not always up to speed on the latest refinements to equipment and methods.

Richard Guttmann is a good friend of mine, we went to the same high school and both got our start in towing at the same small mom & pop outfit (one that I would end up owning years later). He is now a Senior Product Specialist for the heavy towing division of Jerr-Dan Corporation (owned by OshKosh). His specialty is rotators and extremely complicated recoveries and lifts. This video, which is dedicated to his mentor and good friend Ed Cardiello, only showcases a tiny portion of his three decade career in the towing industry.

 

Als a good guy, he'll shoot the #### with anyone and doesn't mind talking about the show. His sons def aren't like Jamie's useless bum of a son either.

 

The 15 minutes of fame really turned out to be worth it... LOL
