The joys of having drivers just keeps getting better. One of my drivers called this morning to inform me that his/my loaded flatbed was stolen in Gary Indiana. He was told to leave his trailer in Chicago heights Illinois in our gated drop lot when he goes home. I guess he has been leaving the trailer in an abandoned parking lot in Gary close to his home. Reported it stolen, but probably will wait until Tuesday to report it to insurance because thats when I will have the police report.
Its been a bad week, had a completely different driver knock his right side mirror off backing in a door to unload. Kenworth repaired the mirror for $600 but didnt have time to paint the new shell. Driver is already asking when its going to be painted. Same driver cut down two tires this week also. But he did inform me that those are tax write offs. Talk about wanting to strangle someone.
Im sure my customer is going to be thrilled Tuesday when they find out I let their freight get stolen.
Well on the bright side it was one of my old 1997 Dorsey that was taken and not one of the new reitnouers.

Raiderfanatic, RockinChair and precisionpower Thank this. -
Bummer. Hope it gets found. Just out of curiosity if ur driver had parked it where he SHOULD of parked it, it probably wouldnt have gotten stolen..?

why would anyone leave anything in gary
i wouldnt leave my ex in garystr8rida, .honeybadger., peterd and 9 others Thank this. -
Our drop lot which is 15 miles from Gary is fenced in and has a locking gate. We have surveillance cameras that monitor the lot. Only my drivers have access since it's a private drop yard. I have to believe this is safer then an abandoned lot in Gary. -
Since he lives in Gary he probably feels the area is safer then it really is.
