Since all the other companies on here have a "chat room," I figured that JCT should have one as well. We can use this thread to post the good, bad, and ugly of JCT. It can also serve as a good reference for drivers looking for info about JCT. I know we have the JCT thread in the Favorite Trucking Company forum, but the majority of the info in there is quite outdated and not very relevant to the JCT of today...especially with e logs. If it takes off, Great! If not, well at least somebody tried.

The lease agreement is something like 50 pages long. I don't know about Cali since they have been running me on the East Coast so far. Last week I ran close to 2600 miles. This week will be around the same. I will say that the miles are steady, but not busy...if that makes sense. I love how JCT preplans you several days in advance. For example, I already know where my next load is picking up and delivering, and I just picked my current load up today. I also am very pleasantly surprised with how the entire staff treats the driver. They really make you feel like a person instead of just another expendable asset.

When I was at the Petro last night, I figured I would go ahead and get the tires rotated and balanced. The 1st hiccup was when they said that they couldn't balance super singles. The 2nd and biggest hiccup was when they mounted the steers on the balancing machine wrong which made the balancing machine think the tires were way out of whack. One steer needed 16oz of weight and the other one needed 26oz. Well they put that much weight on them until I stopped them and told them that if the tires were that far out of round, we are replacing them. Now my truck only has 60,000 miles on it, and something is seriously wrong if it ate through a pair of Michelin steers in that few of miles. Anyways, they need to take pictures to send to breakdown and in the process, they put the tires on the balancing machine the correct way. Unfortunately, they used all of their weights the First time around. So basically the balancing is going to have to be redone, but I got the rotation for free.

On top of that, I got laughed at profusely by an o/o because I told him I was leasing a truck. Ugh...different strokes for different folks. His truck was a 2003 Freightliner Columbia.

Breakdown called me today to check on the tires. I explained what happened, and they're going to get me to a true tire shop.

Flight, been burning those miles since you started with a brand new cascadia with 351 miles to 60,000 in such short time. :biggrin_25514:Or did you change trucks? just curious.

And it is great to know where you are going BEFORE you are empty. Makes maximizing your time so much easier...
    enjoy your new gig flight.

It had 58,351 when I got it...I made a whoopsie. I would edit my post in the aviary, but it won't let you edit posts that far back. And it is nice...it doesn't happen all of the time, but when it does...Thanks for the well wishes.
