Maybe this one will stay in the Maverick forum, LOL...

Tell about the big one that got away or the one that didn't, trail cam pics, new hunting gadgets....anything hunting...feel free to share it here.

I'll start by showing off a new toy I just ordered from Wyvern Creations in NH (AWESOME people to deal with for anything to do with crosbows)... http://www.wyverncreations.com/

    http://www.parkerbows.com/crossbows.html?action=detail&detailsku=1115

Got that crossbow kit (scope and all), 8 Parker Hunter arrows, 8 field points, 1 pack of Rage mechanical broadheads, Parker rope ####er, and a Scorpion Venom crossbow care kit (rail lube, string wax, etc.) all for $849.95 and free shipping.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SOME TIME IN THE WOODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Picked up a beer load at Coors in Golden, CO yesterday and saw a nice 5x5 Elk standing outside the fence.

    So did I... Darn.

Well, I've never "hunted" one with the truck, but I had to get out of my truck while stopped in the middle of Interstate 90 to literally kick one out of the way so I could go on...

(Yeah, I actually got out and physically kicked him lol)

Lol I know you're joking jxu, but for those that are new drivers or considering becoming drivers, it's a bad idea to swerve.

if you swerve to miss an animal on the highway, and to lose control and hit something, it's an instant DOT citation for Failure to Maintain Control. If you hit it head on, obviously there will be damage, but it'll be considered by DOT to be an unavoidable accident because the animal was in the road.

Just an FYI for new drivers, a DOT officer told me that.

I don't swerve for much of anything. If you swerve even in the car you can go into the other lane and if you hit another car it is failure to control your vehicle. Any officer will tell you that! I'll brake and if the animal doesn't move oh well! Might be dinner for later on! It is actually always better to slow down stay in your lane and hope the animal is smart enough to move than to swerve around it no matter what you are driving.

Venison, pre-tenderized, $0.00 per pound. You'll be eating good while your truck is in the shop for 3 weeks :biggrin_2559:
